From the National Day to the Winter Holidays in Romania

Around December 1st, in the last month of the year, I traveled in time with the historian Anita Sterea. I understood the significance of December 1st, I stopped at the Royal Court of Romania, where I discovered stories with kings, queens, princes or princesses, carols, pretzels and decorated fir trees. I understood better, what each unique queen brought to the protocol of the royal court in December, what traditions took over the Romanian society and what dishes were found on the table of the kings of Romania on Christmas Day. We will also discover how the winter holidays were in aristocratic families, but also in the rural world.

Anita Sterea is a historian and president of Coolturale Noua Association. For 15 years, Anita Sterea has been carrying out cultural and educational projects for Romanian and foreign audiences of all ages.
