RoKultur asbl proposes another event with the ethnologist and museographer Sebastian Paic-Apan, a painting workshop for Easter eggs. On 5 and 6 April at 10 a.m. at the Belair Cultural Centre – Institut St. Jean.
During the workshops, the focus will be on respecting authentic and traditional sources, considering necessary the thorough knowledge and popularization of archaic sources.
So you will have the opportunity to learn signs and meanings, as well as techniques of working with wax, and you will be able to decorate some eggs that you can take home.
You will be provided with: Eggs already emptied, quills of different thicknesses, waxes and wax melters.
Sebastian Paic – Apan founded in 2011 the ‘Zestrea’ Association, where he trains disciples in crafts such as: painting Easter eggs, painting icons on glass, wood encrusting, making traditional masks, opinci, chișiţe. In order to complete his egg painting technique, Sebastian Paic conducted field researches in Ţara Lăpuşului, Bucovina, Vrancea and Ţara Bârsei. The painting craft he learned from Professor Ioan Sorin Apan from Braşov. One of the approaches he is currently focusing on is the promotion of the variety of scattered egg models from different regions (Ţara Bârsei, Țara Lăpușului, Oltenia, Bucovina and Bihor).
